Mareva's is the brainchild of Stanley and Irene Idzik. Both were born in Poland and came to the United States in the 1950's.
Executive Chef Irene Idzik learned to cook at a young age in Poland, and later joined her parents who were operating a successful family restaurant in Chicago.
Irene and Stanley Idzik started in the food business in 1961 when they started Oaza Palm Terrace Banquets and Catering with Stanley's parents. Irene quickly learned the secrets of Old World European cuisine, adding her own flair for a more nouveau style, with French and Italian influences. Irene quickly became well known as one of the leading Chicago area chefs.
