Family
Andrew Pindar was born in Scarborough in 1957. He married Caroline, a civil engineer, in 1986 and they have two children Zoe (born in 1995) and George (born in 1997).
Education
Andrew’s formal education began at Scarborough Boys High School and he later attended the local sixth form college. In 1976 he went to Leeds Polytechnic Business School .
In 1980 Andrew entered the print business, joining Pindar as an estimator before going on to spend time in both customer service and marketing roles. His first managerial role was in purchasing, where he learned the difference between value and price – a lesson that has long figured in Pindar’s business strategy. In 1992 Andrew became Chief Executive and in 1998 Chairman – a position that he holds today.
