Ron R. Wolforth is the founder of Pitching Central and CEO of the Ron Wolforth's Baseball Ranch, Inc. in Montgomery, Texas. From 1986-1991, Wolforth was the Head Softball Coach at the University of Nebraska, where his teams twice competed in the College World Series. Wolforth's passion is drawn from the realization he had below average results as a college pitcher, in spite of the fact that he had better than average velocity and far better than average desire and aptitude. His 20 year passion for uncovering and explaining the possible keys to performance has led him to writing his series on pitching. Although Wolforth's college playing career offered few superlatives, his academic career was another story. Wolforth was named Secondary Education Student of the Year as well as Physical Education Major of the Year at Sam Houston State University in 1983. Wolforth credits his ten-year association with the Can-Am Sports Academy and his Baseball Ranch for its ability to serve as a "living, breathing laboratory" and to help him distinguish fact from prejudice and principle from style. Wolforth firmly believes that the roles of being a teacher/coach and a student/player work best when they are seamless and one is open to at least the possibility he could be mistaken in his current presumptions of the truth.
