Further to that, here a bunch of geeky things I did to make OS X more friendly to me, a Linux/WinXP? (in that order) user.
Toggle Hidden Files - Automator script that will show/hide unix files and folders (/etc, /usr, /opt etc) aswell as other OS X hidden files.
