Born in Dallas and raised in Knoxville, TN, David developed an ear for voices early in life mimicking cartoons and his father's many colorful stories. In high school David loved singing, theater and sports. At the University of Tennessee he majored in acting and advertising performing in several plays and managing the Advertising Department at the UT Daily Beacon newspaper.
Next stop, Six Flaggs over Georgia where David MC’d and did "Elvis” in the park’s live stage show. There he met a dolphin trainer, his future bride, Donna. They married and performed dolphin shows together at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City and Great America in Santa Clara, CA.
The acting bug bit David and they moved to Los Angeles. Overnight success eluded him, but he did manage to get his foot in the door at Chiat/Day Advertising. David spent the next ten years there learning creative excellence and mottoes like, "Good enough is not enough" and "Chiat/Day is a sweat-shop". He worked his way from creative secretary thru broadcast traffic to broadcast business manager and finally found his calling as Chiat/Day's Radio Producer and Voice Caster.
