Priory Oak Boxes. Carved English Oak box for weddings and family history
Description
Born in 1950 in Plymouth England. Entered Devonport dockyard aged 16 and started an apprenticeship as a shipwright. As part of his training he spent three months in the block shop making blocks for the rigging of HMS Victory.
After completing his training in 1971 he went on to work for Hurley Marine and helped to develop the famous Topper dingy used today by millions around the globe. In 1978 he branched out on his own forming Lancelot Joinery. This company evolved throughout the years until finally settling down into Priory.
As time passed by his interest in antique English oak bible boxes and coffers started to grow. It has now reached the point where box making has taken over completely. His years of experience in furniture making have given him the skills necessary to make these pieces to such a high standard.
