pulled from site's meta descriptionGreece, Spain and Italy are participating in this LIFE+ project aiming to develop strategies and to apply low cost environment friendly technologies, like bioremediation, use of porous materials, wastes pretreatment and composting, to protect and improve soil and water bodies quality at olive oil mills’ wastes disposal areas in the Mediterranean region. Pilot areas will be monitored regarding soil and water quality parameters and a soil remedial/protective technology will be applied at a pilot area. Guidelines for the safe use of liquid and solid mills’ wastes as well as an info-library, accessible to general public, that will cover the subject Olive oil production in the Mediterranean region will be developed. A well designed dissemination strategy will guarantee data and knowledge distribution to stakeholders, policy makers and all interested parties.
