Origins
The origins of QMAP lie in advanced process methodology research carried out initially at Liverpool Polytechnic and later at UMIST by QMAP's founder, Roy Crossfield in the mid 1980's. He recognised that managing cross-functional processes running right through a business was the key to delivering competitive advantage. Although the IDEF methodology created in the US Air Force was becoming prevalent, Roy believed that a more flexible, user-friendly approach was needed - QMAP was born.
