June 2006-CONSHOHOCKEN, PA (NYSE:KWR) -- Quaker Chemical Corporation today announced that it has received approval from Factory Mutual for its Quintolubric® brand of fire resistant hydraulic fluids. This approval covers QUINTOLUBRIC 888 products including QUINTOLUBRIC 888 46, QUINTOLUBRIC 888 68, and QUINTOLUBRIC 888 FM as well as QUINTOLUBRIC 822-450 and QUINTOLUBRIC 855. This comprehensive approval certifies that these products meet the new, more stringent, Factory Mutual Global standard for “approved” fire-resistance. All products have received a Class 1 rating.
Quaker Chemical is a leader in this technology, having pioneered the use of ester-based chemistry in synthetic fire-resistant hydraulic fluids. “This technology is notable for its high performance and lubricity, and environmental characteristics of non-hazardous, non-toxic, and biodegradable” reports Mr Kevin Dickey, Key Account Manager. These products are used extensively in a number of heavy manufacturing industries including steel and primary metals production, glass manufacturing, forging and foundry operations, mobile heavy equipment, and mining.
