Description

It is important to find out as much information as possible about the company you are going to choose to deliver your training. So I have put together an overview of my experience and the company's aims as an introduction to Quest Training and Development.

I originally trained as an Operating Theatre Technician at the Institute of Health and Medical Training at Royal Air Force Halton. After completing my training I moved to Princess Margaret's Hospital in Swindon. There I was working within the critical care area covering Operating Theatres, Accident and Emergency and as a member of the cardiac arrest team. I was also involved with the casualty evacuation team transporting sick and injured service personnel. This experience gave me a good grounding to develop my skills across a wide range of clinical activities.

As the structure of the Forces Medical Service changed I decided to leave the Royal Air Force and return to my home town of Yeovil. I was then employed as an Operating Department Practitioner within the Critical Care Directorate. It was here where I further developed my skills building on my previous experience. I found that I particularly enjoined teaching clinical skills and assessing NVQs.
