Sharon Vanderlip is a veterinarian who has loved and admired Collies since she was a child. Like so many Collie lovers, she read every Albert Payson Terhune book she could find and dreamed of the day she could have her own Collies. The dream became a reality in 1977 when she established Rainshade Collies.
For more than 25 years, Dr. Vanderlip has provided veterinary care to domestic and exotic animal species. She served as Associate Director of Veterinary Services for the University of California at San Diego, has worked on collaborative projects with the Zoological Society of San Diego, is the former Chief of Veterinary Services for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and has owned her own veterinary practice. She is Director of International Canine Semen Bank (ICSB) in San Diego and provides services in all aspects of animal reproductive medicine and surgery. Dr. Vanderlip also gives seminars and lectures throughout the United States and Europe.
