Rangiatea has deposits of Agate Rock, the semi precious gemstone, formed during the Mt Somers volcanics 90 million years ago. The Gallaghers display their unique rocks on the property, showing a wide range of colours, sizes and patterns. Rocks are not for sale.
The family offer limited homestead accommodation but are happy to make recommendations for activities and other accommodation in the Mt Somers/Foothills District.
SIL recorded, EBVs for fertility, growth rate and wool weights. Demand is high for this hardy dual purpose, meat and wool breed.
