Rusk County Citizen Action Group
Description
The group was organized to counteract the attempts of Flambeau Mining Company to establish a mine in the Town of Grant, Rusk County, WI. Its purpose was and is to educate the Rusk County Board, state legislators and the general public about the negative impacts of metallic sulfide mining.
(a) To secure and maintain an adequate factual basis for sound planning and action in the conservation and wise use of the Region's natural environmental resources.
(b) To improve public understanding of the aims and importance of an organized effort in behalf of wise resource development and conservation.
