Hi, my name is Don Giandomenico and I would like to tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in southern California and now reside in San Bernardino. I am 33 years old and married to my beautiful wife Stacy. Together we have our beautiful daughter Amelia which I hope will one day enjoy flying things as well. I am an IBEW Union Electrician and work on industrial-commercial construction jobs in my area. Somewhere in between all of my duties I find time to build and fly model aircraft.
My fascination with aircraft started in December of 2000, just after I started flying a 40-sized trainer at El Mirage dry lake bed in CA. Before that, I wouldn’t have been able to identify a J-3 Cub or a P-38. A whole new world had opened to me and I was absorbing it like a sponge. A few months of flying and I had put 4 models together, including my Great Planes Corsair (above). Of all the hobbies I have had in my life, model airplanes have stuck to me like Cyanoacrylate Glue. Spending time with my flying buddies at the local flying field is the best relief from stress and I try to make it every weekend.
