The Ardennes Offensive (16 December 1944 – 25 January 1945) was a major German offensive, launched towards the end of World War II through the densely forested Ardennes Mountains region of Belgium, France and Luxembourg on the Western Front. This was in known as the Battle of the Bulge. After the Battle of the Bulge,  Recogne was chosen as the resting place for German soldiers. This German cemetery is distinguished by a chapel built from Pink Eifel sandstone. It has the remains of 6.
