About Reading 107fm
In September 2001, a bid was submitted to the Radio Authority for the newly-advertised licence to serve the Reading area. The following March, the licence was awarded to Reading 107fm and on 22nd October 2002, the station went on-air from a purpose-built studio complex within the Madejski Stadium.
Tim Grundy was the first presenter on the station at 8am, with the first song being the Doobie Brothers' "Listen To The Music".
