The Red Lion Hotel is a perfect place to enjoy good quality home made pub food (overseen by Cordon Bleu trained cook and co-owner, Lucy) or settle in for a Sunday afternoon with the papers in front of the open fire with the landlord's special recipe 'Duck Pond Bitter'. Under the private ownership and management of Edward and Lucy Herring the Hotel is being continually re-modelled to return many of its original features to the building. With good food, wines, cask ales, cosy accommodation and friendly efficient service being the emphasis for the Herrings, they have a team of like minded helpers - together they are striving for excellence in their field.
