Description

Following the European Commission Call for Proposals for the European Refugee Fund Community actions, the project: EU Networks on Reception, Integration and Voluntary Repatriation has seen its approval. This project is the continuation of the ECRE Task Force on Integration, which later became the EU-Networks on Integration of Refugees, a project that lasted three years (1997-2000) and was financed by the EU, under Budget Line B3-4113. We have deemed it crucial to continue and develop past activities so as not to waste the results we have achieved until now.

Therefore the main aim of this project, which started on the 15th of May 2001 and will end on the 15th of February 2002, is to continue what was done in the past years (networking with refugee-related organisations in order to improve their integration) as well as to enlarge the scope of its action to reception and voluntary return. The EU Networks also want to involve grassroots organisations and refugee community groups, because their first-hand experience is most valuable when our ultimate goal is to promote refugee integration.

Therefore we will work together in order to build capacities, among NGOs but also local authorities in general, in improving reception conditions, providing integration services and services that can help rejected asylum seekers return voluntary and with dignity.
