RegisterFly.com had big problems for a long time but it finally melted down completely in February/March, 2007. As a result many websites have become unreachable (their DNS names "unresolvable"). If you are receiving mysterious messages from Firefox to the effect that it "can't find the server at www.yourfaveblog.com" then it may be the case that the name you're browsing to was registered at RegisterFly.com.

Digg | Huge chaos at Registerfly

Additional Information

announced it was terminating RegisterFly as one of their domain resellers, effective 9 March 2007. This effects some some 9,000,000 domain names registered under the RegisterFly name, but that were actually part of eNom's perview. Those domains will be migrated over to eNom. read more

  • It remains unclear how the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) will handle all these complaints, but it's obvious that they are taking these seriously, at least from the comments and responses on their own Ombudsman's blog.

Hands down the worst company in America, scamming thousands of people out of thousands of dollars. This company is bad news and is beholden to no one since they never answer complaints, never return money and never provide service as advertised. A colossal rip-off!!

Oh...and we'll take your money, lock you out of your account and give you no explination. Support? You'll have to see those other guys about support. We'd rather dump on our customers.

RegisterFly has a reputation of bad customer support, and thus has gotten many enemies. Do a Google for 'registerfly' if you would like to know more about this.

I agree, they take your money and don't renew your domain!

register fly terrible service

it amazes me that such a terrible company can survive. And we the owners of a domain name(s) can't get it fixed!!!

it seems as you already know out there that registerfly gives us the run around.

If I lived in their city I would put a complaint to the local police station and Attorney General.

Of course that won't do anything except waste out time.

A verbal message or standardized letter of complaint should be draw up to resolve this companies issue.

How did you ever get the domain to transfer when I couldn't get it to show the redirect.

Chris Timco, for ideas please!!

How Long Have You Been In "The Que"? I was 45 days!

Registerfly.com The worst company I have ever dealt with!

My experience at: http://www.kevinmedinasucks.com; Use http://www.godaddy.com it works unlike registerfly

Credit Card Charged Twice

Had To Contest Charge To Get My Money Back!

They Will Seize Control Of Any Domains You Have If You Complain-Period

Registerfly is so bad, spammers won't even use them.

What To Expect:

System Constantly Fails

Support Says, "Keep Trying"

It Simply Doesn’t Work For Me !

Downtime When Your Site Fails To Renew!

Hours On The Phone-On Hold; and a very large phone bill!

Customer Support That Really Does Not Care!

An Enormous Amount Of Frustration Trying To Get Things Resolved

They are literally criminals!

Take caution using RegisterFly

While RegisterFly.com is cheap and probably 90% of their users experience few issues I recommend you Google their name first before choosing them to register your domain names.

They are known to drop names without notification or reason (with months left on their registration, so you never know if you actually have your name). They customer support is extremely limited to the point of being dangerous. I have personally lost domains due solely to their negligence and their DNS uptime isn't great either. These issues have affected so many people that anti-registerfly websites have been developed to educate the general users of these issues. See registerflies.com

Registerfly - DO NOT USE! Fraud, Theft, Identity Theft... etc.

Registerfly Sucks - Unified Names Inc. also sucks. Take a look at www.registerflies.com for the truth about Registerfly and Unified Names. This company is the worst of it's kind. Do not let these people control any of your domain names.

Want to verify this, I suggest you do a search on google for the term "Registerfly" and start opening pages. Next, go to their site and click on the live chat. While you are waiting for live chat, call Registerfly's phone number. Now see how long it takes to get either. You better plan on being there a while so make sure your phone battery has a good charge and speaker phone................................................. As more time passes you'll see just how good their support is going to be. Don't trust my word on it, keep waiting. When you get disconnected, just call back and keep repeating and you'll see what I mean.

Now, this is what they do. Registerfly will register your domain name or transfer your domain name into thei

What do i think of RegisterFly?

I think they need to be shut down and thrown behind bars for what they have done to their cliens, taking money and transfering domains into their names and changing the contact and DNS info, they are the WORST registrar I have EVER used.

Registerfly and BBB

Do a lookup of registerfly.com for the state of NJ when at the BBB. 'Nuff said.

The NJ Domain Mob

They extort money from you by locking your domains after billing you for fictitious renewals or registrations that don't have receipts, say it must have been for "something" but cannot say what...then charge you $150 per chargeback when your credit card company goes knocking, and freeze all of your domains. My credit card company event reported that they had a signature on file for the fictitious charges. Now I have to pay them over $500 to get my domains back so I can cross my fingers and try to transfer them away.

Concur

Customer service is extremely poor. Frankly, it is difficult to find even a mediocre review of this company these days.

Look elswhere

They tout being #2 registrar, but they are #1 for bad service!

Extremely long hold times, tickets are closed without resolve. Continually state "technical difficulties" for their excuse.

Already lost 5 domains, am presently fighting to save another.
