A residence at sea, but on a larger ship than we were on. Although the cabin accommodations were delightful, they were not like a home. The accommodations should be much larger, with rooms that are very comfortable. Instead of having everything in one room, there should be more rooms, a separate bedroom, a separate bathroom, and a comfortable living room area. As the business we currently operated, dealt extensively with these issues, and being a naval architect by trade, I began to make a few rough scale drawings. I quickly found that if I took the rough scale drawings and lay them out end to end, they were three to four times longer than the boat we were aboard, and over twice as wide. The length didn't bother us, but the width was an issue.
The next day we had chartered a boat to go scuba diving and snorkeling for the day. Upon arrival at the dock we discovered this charter was a catamaran. We had a wonderful time that day exploring the wonders of the seas, and couldn't help but notice how smooth the voyage was aboard this catamaran. Width is no longer an issue, building a twin hull ocean liner would be much better.
Throughout this cruise we were on, my wife and I were asking all kinds of questions about the islands we visited, focusing on various business and family lifestyle aspects. We looked at all of the resort conveniences each island did and didn't have, and also looked at the amenities onboard the cruise ship we were on, as well as everything the luxury yacht being built by our acquaintance would have. We decided that in order for us to be living onboard fulltime, we must combine all of the best features we found while on our trip, and add all of the amenities we have at home to create the ultimate place to live. This would make an ideal place for us, our family, and others to live. Luxury residences on the ocean with great services to provide a quality lifestyle while traveling the world on an endless voyage. We could retire here and experience the best retirement life possible.
