Title

Retrogade Art Community - Create More, Learn More, Grow.

Description

Retrogade has a very rich history of ups and downs.

Founded in 2004, it was based off of the popular website Newgrounds. Except instead of flash movies, it was intended to be for art. It drew in a community of about 1000 users. A very small community who became very passionate for Retrogade and it's user-base.

In 2007, the website started to suffer. The upkeep for the growing website soon became the downfall. The website died due to lack of funding and the user-base disbanded. Some stuck around Newgrounds however finding a full-time programmer was an issue.

In 2008, Josh Foster and Brandon Geist attempted to rebuild Retrogade. A lot of buzz was made and old users were excited to hear the news. The project started very well, but the two grew apart and the project was never completed.

In 2009 and most of 2010, Retrogade soon became the story of the Arrested Development movie. Talk murmured through-out Newgrounds, but the project looked like it would never see the light of day.

In November of 2010, Daniel Doucet went back to Newgrounds to see if interest on the project was still there. Once asked, Josh Foster, Billy Lewis and Brandon Geist quickly jumped on-board.

Now 2011, production has been full-steam ahead. Retrogade.org
