Description

It is a volunteer driven non-profit association. In 1993 R.E.A.D. applied for, was granted, and is recognized as a tax exempt publicly supported charitable organization. [I.R.C. §501(c) (3)] by the I.R.S.

The volunteers who started R.E.A.D. were not high profile individuals, they did not seek notoriety. They simply wanted to work within a benevolent organization whose priorities were practical or active projects, whose activities were volunteer driven and whose focus was not primarily promotional.
