- It all started after Christmas 2001 when Alyssa was three! Santa left a Baby Born doll at the end of her bed. We all thought it was wonderful watching her play with her first doll but she was soon bored with the clothes she came in. When I went to buy some new doll clothes I couldn't believe the retail stores were asking $25 for a basic outfit. Out came my sewing machine and before long Alyssa had a whole new wardrobe for her doll.
