SEPCO - Solar Electric Power Company is the pioneer in solar lighting and remote solar power systems and was started in 1994. Founded by Steve Robbins, who designed and patented the world’s first commercial solar street light, SEPCO has been providing solar lighting and solar power solutions to customers world wide.
Over the past 15+ years, SEPCO has experienced exponential growth by providing a wide range of off-grid solar power and solar lighting solutions including compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), light emitting diods (LED), metal halide, induction, low pressure sodium, and high pressure sodium. SEPCO also offers turtle friendly lighting for coastal areas.

- SEPCO’s patented LCU1 Lighting computer unit makes sure every SEPCO system runs efficiently and that the battery is never overcharged. Each system comes with the LCU1 controller to allow the system to keep the balance of charge and load so that all parts of the system work together properly.
Technology
Solar Power System:
SEPCO uses only high quality single crystal solar panels and deep cycle GEL batteries in their power assemblies to provide their customer with maximum efficiency in the smallest size available. The solar panel backs are covered by vented aluminum panel pans that provide protection against weather, vandalism, and other types of damage that could normally occur to unprotected panels.
The vented battery box contains the size battery needed for the application while also providing a minimum of 3 days autonomy. These batteries are deep cycle sealed GEL cell batteries that are non-hazardous and fully recyclable.
Within the battery box is also the control electronics specified for the application. SEPCO provides a range of controls to power the system from dusk to dawn, dusk for a set number of hours, to a programmable time clock for operation for only specific times of day or night.
Lighting Fixtures:
SEPCO provides a line of lighting fixtures from commercial roadway fixtures to decorative post top fixtures. We work with many different lighting fixture manufacturers and have something for every type of application to satisfy the clients needs. All of SEPCO’s lighting fixtures are built to withstand the elements and are made from high grade materials. SEPCO also has partnered with major lighting manufactures to provide an extensive line of fixtures to suite any application.
