Description
The San Antonio Dietetic Association is the advocate of the dietetics profession serving the public through the promotion of optimal nutrition, health and well being.
The public’s interest in nutrition is at an all time high and increased focus on nutrition is expected. The dietetics profession is uniquely postured to offer services and solutions to meet the publics’ needs and in turn benefit from an increased demand for our services. However, establishing the registered and licensed dietitian and the dietetics professional as a key nutrition expert will not be easy. It will require a focused effort by the total membership, requiring us to act on a variety of fronts including legislative, public awareness, and in the value we provide to our professional colleagues. The next few years could determine whether demand for our profession will grow or decline. Each of us has a role in contributing to the solution by determining where we should focus and what we can do. Together we can make a difference for the nutritional well being of Americans, for the profession of dietetics, and for ourselves.
Action step 1 – Develop a target list of industry links and people to solicit for the advisory board (i.e. school districts, health care organizations, groceries, pharmacies, specialty stores).
