I bought Sadie and Buzz some Christmas bandanas last year to join their already huge collection of special occasion bandanas. We were headed to grandma and grandpas for Christmas and when we got there, after the 7 hour car trip, Sadie's bandana was missing. At some point during the trip, she had her head out the window and the velcro on the bandana had let go and her bandana was somewhere between Dothan, Alabama and Jackson, Tennessee. I started thinking, what would keep the bandana on the dogs, and be safe? So I started brainstorming. I thought about clasps, but those added bulk around the neck - too much with the clasps already on their necks for their collars. Then it dawned on me, make the collar slip through the bandana so it hangs on without the extra bulk and no worry of velcro coming undone. . .
Then it was time for a name. My Weimaraner, Sadie, has been the pride and joy of my life since I brought her home as a puppy in October 2000. She is my best buddy, my running buddy, my snuggling buddy, and of course the inspiration of my bandanas. So, I thought the name SadieWear was perfect.
