In 1944, Abner, a salesman, and two partners founded Magnolia Beauty Supply in Shreveport, Louisiana, which sold professional hair care products, as well as equipment and furnishings, to beauty salons in North Louisiana, Northeast Texas, South Arkansas and East Oklahoma.
