Sandy's Pool Service was founded by Sandy Karshner in the mid 1980's. She began caring for the pool needs of a friend. With word of mouth, Sandy's business began to grow one pool at a time. Soon, she found herself caring for several pools and she needed help. This is when she began to hire her nephews, Bill and Matt. With dedication to customer service, the business continued to grow to one of the premier pool service companies in the Columbus area. Finally, in the fall of 2000, Sandy was ready to retire.
This is when Sandy's Pool Service was passed along to Bill and Matt and it became Sandy's Pool Service LLC (also affectionately known as "SPS"). Bill and Matt continue to drive the business while keeping customer service and satisfaction the number one priority.
Bill was raised just outside of Sunbury, Ohio, with five brothers. Bill and Matt were responsible for taking care of the family's swimming pool. Bill graduated from Big Walnut High School and then Heidelberg College. Currently, he teaches Health and Physical Education at Bellefontaine High School and is also the school's Certified Athletic Trainer. He has been employed there since 1994. He has also been employed as a lifeguard at Peppertree Condominiums for six summers, where his duties included maintaining the pool. Bill was employed by his Aunt Sandy to care for pools in Hilliard, Powell, and Westerville for 2 years before taking over ownership duties in 2001.
