Description
San Juan del Sur is a small town on the coast of the Pacific where they turned back time. It’s a place where you meet the local people and form strong, lasting bonds of friendship. It’s a place where your neighbors’ firewood is delivered by oxen and the smell of cooking fires fill the morning air. The clean, safe streets are peopled with colorful street vendors and even more colorful street urchins.
In a five-minute walk, you can be surrounded by exotic birds and statuesque trees. Nature beats her own rhythm here. The tide goes in and out twice a day and the turtles make their annual return to lay their eggs on unspoiled beaches. The people are warm and friendly. They may be poor in material things, but in them is a richness and integrity that is unique and enviable.
San Juan del Sur is where travelers come for a day and stay for a week. Some of us just never find a good enough reason to leave at all.
