"Sanook" is a Thai word, which means "to have fun". The Sanook Paper Company is a designer, importer and stocking distributor of milled and handmade mulberry paper and mulberry paper craft accessories from Thailand.
Mulberry paper, also known as "saa paper" is made almost exclusively in the Mountains of Northern Thailand. Saa paper is an environmentally friendly, acid free, lignin free, handmade paper made by local villagers.
The Government of Thailand has implemented a "One Village - One Product" philosophy to help promote local labor for the benefit of the small villages around the country. Saa paper is made through a process that has been passed down by villagers for over 1000 years. (see how saa paper is made). The Sanook Paper Company supports the "One Village - One Product" policy. We use only local labor and the papers made in the villages up country.
