Description
Sara Gelser was sworn in as State Representative for House District 16 on December 2, 2005. She was appointed after a unanimous vote by Linn and Benton County Commissioners to complete an unexpired term.
Currently, Sara is appointed to two interim committees: the Child Welfare Task Force and the Oregon Health Plan Task Force. She is also working closely with the Senate Committee on Child Health. She is the Legislative appointee to the State Interagency Coordinating Council, and Department of Human Services Director Dr. Bruce Goldberg recently named her the legislative member of the Child Welfare Advisory Committee.
Sara began serving on the Corvallis School Board in 2001, serving one year as vice-chair. She is a past president of The Arc of Benton County and an ex-officio member of the board of The Arc of Oregon. She is a member of the Corvallis chapter of Zonta, and was named Corvallis Junior First Citizen by the Corvallis Chamber of Commerce in 2004. She is an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Corvallis.
