DHAHRAN, June 07, 2006 -- World Environment Day has special significance for Saudi Aramco employees and their families this year as it kicks off a massive, yearlong recycling effort in the community.
In the next few days, compact red, yellow and green recycling bins will be distributed to households in Dhahran along with matching recycling bags. Employees and their families will be asked to use the bins to collect plastic, glass and aluminum so that these materials may be reused.
The recycling effort was launched this week at the Environmental Protection Department's World Environment Day event at the tent and parking lot next to Gate 34, the Tower gate in the Core Area.
