About Us

ScenicBarrie.com was launched in June of 2001! The company is owned and operated locally by Creative Business Promotions Inc. Within 8 months of launching, ScenicBarrie.com was awarded Most Community Involved Local Business 2001! The site was originally designed to be a showcase that would display Barrie, Ontario, Canada to the world in a way that no other city has ever been shown before. The virtual tour of the city enables you to travel in any direction around the main routes of town. Along the street views, well over 400 businesses and community groups are featured! These are also listed in a very active Business/Community Directory. The street images were taken in 2001, and will be a lasting snapshot of what Barrie was like in that time period. There are seven radio stations and Rogers Television is a Major Media Sponsor involved with the site.

ScenicBarrie.com is a new form of local media. Over 500 events have been profiled on the site between June of 2001 and September of 2002! There are approximately 150 events profiled at any one time in the event photo tributes, and these live on for a year.

ScenicBarrie.com also features a virtual tour of the walking path. Attraction features, street search maps, churches, parks and schools are profiled, along with thousands of scenic photos. Photo sections include night and day images of rural Simcoe County, Lake Simcoe, winter shots, etc.
