Skype, the popular internet telephony program now owned by Ebay Inc. decided to allow FREE calls from Skype to Regular phones in Canada and the United States for ANYONE in Canada and United States. This is actually VERY exciting news for a lot of people that don't like spending long distance charges when talking to their girlfriend(s) a couple hundred miles away.
So I've taken the time to install Skype again (doh!), and login to my account, surpringsly, I still have 51 cents canadian from some promos a VERY long time ago, I'm surprised because those credits were suppose to expire a few months ago when I got emails almost everyday from Skype stating my credit balance will expire. I guess it just never did.
Anyhow, let's get straight to it, so I can CONFIRM, it WORKS! You can call ANY (except billed by phone) United States and Canadian phone number FREE OF CHARGE, you don't need to have a credit card, or anything. The quality is alright, its not the best, but its good enough to maintain a good conversation.
