Description
Jennifer and I (Will) live and work in the Los Angeles area. We started Done Deal while working at the same production company back in the fall of September 1997. We wanted to provide a resource, particularly for writers not working in Los Angeles, to be able to track script, pitch, and treatment sales being made in Hollywood. The main goal is to keep writers aware of the various stories floating around town. In addition, we also wanted to provide the information for who set up the deal, who bought the project, what studio was involved, and so on.
The site originally began as one long page with sales, news and links all crammed together. Today, Done Deal is made up of over 350 pages of sales, examples, interviews, contact information for agents & production companies, columns, contest info, advice and more.
Between us we have over fifteen years of experience working in development and production for various film & television producers, directors, production companies, and studios (including Fox, Universal, Paramount, Columbia Pictures, and TriStar). We've spent countless hours reading scripts, working on feature films & TV shows, and so on. The information and advice we pass on comes direct from our daily experiences in the "biz." We also write screenplays and have gone through the process of meetings and pitches from both sides of the fence.
