SeatGuru.com offers a wealth of user-generated and independently researched information about airplane seats, amenities and in-flight services. SeatGuru.com was founded in October 2001 by Matthew Daimler. Having realized the vast differences between airline seats, he decided to build a repository of this useful information and share it with other travelers. Over ten million unique visitors later, SeatGuru.com has established itself as the most up-to-date and complete guide to airplane seat information on the internet.

SeatGuru.com offers a comprehensive listing of seat and aircraft information for over 700 planes across 100 airlines. Simply click on an airline and a list of planes in service for that airline comes up. Take a look at your travel information and click the appropriate plane. A diagram then comes up with a listing of every seat. Notes include: Good seats, poor seats, seats to be aware of, as well as the locations of power ports, exit locations, galleys, lavatories, and closets. A list of in-flight amenities including audio, video, AC power ports are also shown.

Beyond seat information, Seats.com included all the other pertainent information you'd need for your airline, including websites, frequent flyer information, lounges, magazines, and phone numbers.

Six years after it was founded, SeatGuru.com was acquired by TripAdvisor.com in 2007. Under TripAdvisor.com, the website has continued to rely on user-generated information as well as their own staff to provide the most up-to-date information about the airplane seats and the amenities offered by the various airlines.
