OUR VASES
In the Republic of China, there are deposits of serpentine material that are suitable for carving. Serpentine Jade (aka jadestone) has the beauty, feel, luster, and similar mineral properties of jade, but it is not a true jade. As you can see from the pictures of the vases displayed on our site, our carved vases display an interwoven veined network of streaks and patches of seven different colors. We call these colors the seven shades of jade. . The seven shades are white, brown, orange, yellow, blue green, and purple. There are many mixed variations due to the presence of metallic oxides in the crystalline structure, such as iron, chronium, chlorite, manganese, and magnesium. Each vase is unique; there are no two that are alike.
