We’re more than just your premiere Central Florida location for acquiring the best quality fabrics, notions and machines; we’re your expert source for any questions you may have to help you finish your latest gorgeous sewing creation!
Expert Knowledge
The sheer knowledge of our staff comprises over a century of combined experience in needlecrafts and we can assist you whether you are a quilter, a fashion designer, an interior designer, a devotee of smocking, a dress maker, a costumer, or a curious hobbyist. The store is laid out into several departments constantly staffed by experts in that field, many of whom have been with us for nearly as long as we’ve had our doors open.
Quilting Department
Quilt makers can find a large array of quality cotton fabrics in our quilting department especially chosen by the store’s owner, Pat Sauer, to spark your creative impulses. In addition to fine fabrics, we carry all of the necessary tools you will need to assemble a wonderful handmade quilt.
Machine Department
And if you need help quilting your creation, we have a machine department chock full of affordable quilting machines that can fit any budget. Our machine staff receives training from the manufacturer on each and every machine and can not only point you in the direction of the right machine for the types of projects you regularly undertake, but can train you on the machine and make you an expert yourself.
Machine Repairs
Or if you’re attached to your current machine, but need to have it tuned up or serviced, we have an expert on site who can get any model back into shape.
Bridal and Evening Gown Department
Another of our popular in-store destinations is our Bridal Department. We regularly display beautiful fabrics suitable for wedding gowns and evening wear such as peau de soie, silk shantung, velvet, silk organza, crepe back satins in over 50 colors, silk or polyester chiffons, and crinoline, netting and buckrams. Anything and everything you need to make a glamorous gown for any occasion can be explored with assistance from our expert staff.
Lycra and Spandex Department
On the other end of the spectrum, we also have what we call the Lycra Room, where people who sew dance costumes and active wear like to hang out and browse a large selection of lycras, crushed and solid stretch velvets, foil lycras, stretch mesh, swim suit fabrics, swim suit linings, Spandex, workout fabrics, dance wear fabrics, belly dancing and costume fabrics.
Notions and Sewing Supplies
We also have Kwik Sew , Vogue, Butterick, McCalls and Simplicity patterns, over a million buttons, electric scissors, notions, threads, and heirloom sewing supplies. We carry smocking plates, Spechler Vogel batistes, pre-pleated inserts for smocking and more.
Sewing Classes
With a staff of over 35 knowledgeable sales people and teachers, the Sewing Studio is truly a mecca for anyone interested in sewing clothes, making costumes, outfitting brides, and quilting. We have Central Florida's largest selection of adult and children's sewing classes, quilting classes, and Heirloom sewing classes.
