Description
Louis Poessel was born in El Campo, Texas on April 9, 1949. He attended school in the Tidehaven Independent School District and graduated from Tidehaven High School in 1967. After high school graduation he attended and later graduated from Wharton County Junior College where he earned an Associate in Arts Degree. His education was continued at Sam Houston State University where he once again graduated with a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Agriculture Education.
He married his high school sweetheart Debbie McGinnes in June of 1970 and they have two grown sons. Both sons currently live in the state of Pennsylvania. Louis spent over twenty years in the agricultural seed industry before taking advantage of an early retirement incentive. He served his former employer both as Sales Manager and as a motivational speaker traveling extensively for the company. Following his early retirement he once again grew restless and accepted the position of General Manager of a large national turf equipment sales organization. His business skill and wit increased sales by nearly one million dollars the first year and opened the door for new business opportunities for the company. Although he survived a tragic accident while employed with the turf equipment company his disability now limits travel and public appearances. In addition to his career work, he managed and worked in his spare time on the family farm.
Since his formal retirement several years ago, Louis spends his time writing and working in his yard. He lives with his wife and three Persian cats in the seaside community of Palacios, Texas. His wife Debbie is a Kindergarten teacher for the Palacios Independent School District. Coastal activities sometimes suggest potential stories and Louis and Debbie can often be seen along the water's edge. At this time Louis has two published books with another awaiting the editing process. Both published books deal with the paranormal and while fiction, a sprinkling of his rural upbringing can be found in the stories.
