The Group's mission
Shammout Group is a private conglomerate with the main aim of providing high quality, value-added services and building win-win relationships with their customers and suppliers by adopting an approach of consistent performance and constant improvement.
Historical background
Shammout Group was established by the Syrian businessman Mr. Nour Eddin Shammout and his two brothers in 1950 as a family company. The Group launched its activity at that time as an exporter of different products to Arab countries and freight services provider. Shammout Group afterward quickly gained fine reputation thanks to its reliability in transactions with local as well as international customers and suppliers and has now become one of the most renowned private companies in Syria, which is still a major power engine for its business today. Shammout Group was also a pioneer amongst private companies in benefiting from the liberal atmosphere in the Syrian economy since 1987 where it managed to launch several activities that were previously monopolized by the public sector. The main focus at the time was steel and wood imports from allover the world. In 1991, Shammout Group entered the auto business for the first time and has become well-known in that field allover Syria through building successful business relations with local agents as well as with international suppliers.

To maintain its long record of constant success and fine reputation, SGC embarked on expanding and restructuring its activities, and has now become the accredited agent of a number of high-profile companies such as:
