Thank you for visiting our web site about The Shelby County United Way. Many of you probably think of the United Way as an organization that raises contributions and distributes funds to meet the needs of the people of Shelby County. This is certainly true, but I would like for you to think of the United Way as a community solutions provider and partner in addition to the role we perform as a fundraiser and distributor of funds to local not-for-profit agencies and organizations.
To enable us to better assess the needs in our community, we have conducted an in-depth study of Shelby County to discover the most pressing needs of our citizens and neighbors. This will allow us to better lead the community in the area of human and social services and work with the agencies to develop and administer programs and services.
Our staff and volunteers are dedicated to making a difference in the day-to-day lives of the people of Shelby County both as a fundraiser and as a partner in identifying and meeting needs because this is “what matters” TM to all of us living in Shelby County.
