ShellTown.net is the home on the Web for all ShellTown users. ShellTown users are a group of people who for various reasons access the Internet via text-only shell accounts.

ShellTown users have made a long migration over the years. Originally their accounts were with TIAC. TIAC was then bought out by PSINet. PSINet split into two pieces, PSINet proper and Inter.net, and the ShellTown accounts were put into the Inter.net portion. Inter.net had planned to drop the accounts, but at the last minute sold them to Saugus.net.

Today the ShellTown.net domain hosts numerous sites (both business and personal) maintained by various ShellTown users.
