- Like most artists, Sherry Lawson has been fascinated with art since she was a child. In particular, rendering figures and portraits has been a keen interest and source of constant study. In fact, her first, real paid commission was in high school. A talent that has developed naturally and over many years of study, Sherry’s artistic sensibility was channeled into her college pursuits by majoring in the humanities in both undergraduate and graduate school. Almost every subject she studied was examined with a humanities perspective, delving into the influences of art, music, literature, history, and culture in general.
