- Two artists, Turza Wells and Andrew Shows, began working together in 1978. She was a silversmith from Illinois with with a Bachelor's degree in art education and he was a painter/sculptor from Maryland with a Bachelor's in drawing and painting and a Master's in sculpture and ceramics. For a number of years, he taught art at the local schools. They combined their talents and created a unique style of inlay jewelry. Through the years of developing their work, they owned a gallery, sold to museums, worked in the fashion industry, and sold and displayed their work world-wide including Harrods's of London. They currently reside in the mountains in Western New Mexico, surrounded by thousand-year old archaeological ruins. Part of their time is spent in continued building and decorating of their home. Daily hikes keep them in touch with nature. The beauty and harmony of their environment is now more than ever before their constant inspiration.
