1996, SiliconValley.com was spun out of the San Jose Mercury News' pioneering Mercury Center site (now MercuryNews.com), to highlight and expand on the newspaper's award-winning technology and business coverage. SiliconValley.com continues to feature staff news stories and updates from the Mercury News, as well as popular columnists like Mike Langberg and Mike Cassidy. It is also home to the widely read newsletter and Web log Good Morning Silicon Valley.
