Site Organization Draft

Some thoughts on what we could do to change the "point of view" of the site to focus more on real time constructive edits as the main lens by which people view the site.

Main Page to include Recent Changes "What's Happening"

  • Don't show
    • Minor edits
    • Edits where the # of characters added is negative
    • Anonymous edits

This is pretty exciting. ~~ MarkDilley

Personal Pages to show "Related Changes" as default view

  • Changes on watched pages
  • Changes on related pages to any article on the user's page
    • If a category article is listed on the user's page, then all edits to any article tagged to that category

Currently this is Related Changes on a Personal Page - not very interesting - maybe a default view of the last x contributions? ~~ MarkDilley

Other pages to show "Related Changes"

  • Not sure where on page
    • a teaser WikiBox I think is a good first step, then if it the category is taken over by community, some sort of hand edited information in the WikiBox seems appropriate? It doesn't feel if off of a category page, Specific RecentChanges makes sense. ~~ MarkDilley
  • show changes on all related pages
  • show changes on category pages and all edits to articles tagged to that category

Adult Pages

  • Make "Tag as possible Adult" a minor edit automatically
  • Get more serious about marking pages as possibly adult and get adult page changes out of the RC Stream
