Description
what: By day, I am web developer and web publishing manager for a newspaper group, where I oversee all web-related operations (news publishing, retail advertising, classifieds, etc.) for three dailies (one big, two smallish) and seven weeklies. I also do all of the design and programming for all of our websites.
I used to do a fair amount of freelance web design and development, but I’ve stopped actively seeking new work (though I’d consider any projects presented to me) to devote more of my “free” time to my family and hobbies (especially roleplaying games and flyfishing).
when: I’m a native Arkansan, and I grew up in Batesville and Newport before heading for the hills in Fayetteville. I’ve also lived in Mississippi and (briefly) Alabama. I attended college at: Arkansas College (now Lyon College), Hendrix College, University of Arkansas, University of Arkansas - Little Rock, University of Mississippi, University of Arkansas School of Law. I’m an over-educated under-achiever (B.A. English/Creative Writing, graduate work in English and American Lit, M.A. Southern Studies, J.D. Law). I have worked as a: cook, disc jockey, dishwasher, fly tier, reporter, editor, lawyer, web designer. I’m not sure what’s next.
