The Southeastern Junior Golf Tour was founded on the principle of giving junior golfers a chance to play competitive golf while building their resume for a potential collegiate golf career.The SJGT conducted its inaugural season in 1994 with six tournaments and 60 members. Eleven years later the SJGT has expanded the schedule to 39 events and boasts over 1200 members. The SJGT not only has attracted a large number of junior golfers over the years but has also proven to be an attractive audience for corporate sponsors. The contributions made by corporate sponsors enable the SJGT to keep both its membership and tournament prices at reasonable rates. When compared to other junior golf associations and tours the SJGT is by far the best value in junior golf. This is attributable in part to financial contributors such as Synovus, Nike, Holiday Inn, Cleveland Golf, Ping, AutoTrader.com and Southern Company.
