Description
Skylands Cycling is a bicycle racing and touring club for riders of all interests and abilities in northwest New Jersey. For the novice, we offer easy rides, with clinics to help improve your cycling skills. If you're an enthusiastic recreational rider, try our challenging group rides through the beautiful hills and valleys of Sussex and Warren Counties. And if it's racing you're interested in, Skylands has an active racing team, competing in mountain bike and road races throughout New Jersey and the northeast.
We 're affiliated with the United States Cycling Federation (USCF), the National Off Road Bicycle Association (NORBA), USACYCLING, and the New Jersey Bicycle Association. In December of 2003, Skylands Cycling was voted "Best New Club" for 2003 by USA Cycling, the national governing body for bicycling in the United States. The award is part of USACycling's club of the year program.
Skylands Cycling was formed in the fall of 2002 by local cycling enthusiasts in northern Sussex County, with the support of Sussex Bike and Sport and other local sponsors. The club now boasts more than 70 members in Sussex, Morris, Warren, Passaic, Mercer and Monmouth Counties in New Jersey, and Pike County in Pennsylvania. Skylands members are passionate about both road cycling and mountain biking on all levels, including recreational riding, touring and racing.
