The Abacos is a chain of 150 cays - meaning small islands. Only about 10 cays are inhabited. Great Abaco is ringed by a chain of barrier cays. Abaco is also home to the third largest barrier reef in the world. The sea life and fish are abundant. Go fishing or diving for lobster (when in season) and conch. You are just minutes from the open Atlantic Ocean, or bone fishing in the flats. Abaco is world renown for it's excellent bone fishing --- so bring your fly rod. There are local guides to take you either bone fishing or deep sea fishing. There is also kayaking, bird watching (Abaco Wild Parrots) and dolphin tours. Protected by the outer cays, the Sea of Abaco has the clearest, most beautiful, turquoise waters that you will ever see. The average depth of the Sea of Abaco is only 18 feet.
